Giving learners guidance on using AI
I’m currently enrolled in the first cohort of Building an Inclusive Quality Assurance Rubric offered by Eduflow Academy. It’s my first time being a learner since the public release of LLM AI tools like ChatGPT, so I wanted to highlight how course facilitator Bela Gaytan incorporated these tools into the course.
When I reached our first submission, I saw Bela had included a note about using AI. My first instinct was that this was going to be a warning against plagiarism. I was so wrong.

An accessibility QA tool for websites
Looking for a quick and easy way to check accessibility on your personal or company website?
I just tried out the accessibility quality assurance (AQA) test by UsableNet and am super excited about the powerful accessibility audit it provides.

Image accessibility: Alt text vs. image descriptions
At a webinar I recently attended, “Inclusive Accessibility: Beyond Colors and Captions” hosted by Eduflow Academy, speaker Bela Gaytan offered a big overview of some lesser-known accessibility measures we should be aware of in learning design.
One of my biggest takeaways from that session was the differences between alt text and image descriptions. As I learned from Bela, these are two different accessibility measures with different functions and purposes.
While she was talking, in my head I was already imagining the comparison below, so today I share it with you!
A note that I am following image description best practices here: since I’m offering an infographic (aka image) with text, I’m also providing a text-only version of the same information below to make it accessible to screenreaders.

🧘🏽4 lessons for L&D from yoga
I’ve been doing a lot of yoga in 2023 — the rare New Year’s resolution I’ve actually kept up with! And with all this increased time on the mat, I’ve started noticing, in the middle of my downward dogs, “Huh. This is a lot like what we do in L&D.”
So here are 4 lessons that L&D can learn from yoga (or, more accurately, 4 elements of yoga that align with best practices in L&D).

Exploring 7taps microlearning AI
My turn to try creating a course with 7taps microlearning's new AI feature! It's about choosing the right LMS.

🤖 Would you trust AI to give learners feedback?
We know that for learning to be effective, learners need frequent, targeted feedback on their output.
The problem? This can be burdensome and time-consuming for a facilitator.
Can AI help?
